According to The views of Accelerating the Construction of Smart Grid released by State Grid, our smart grid will be divided into 3 stages. The construction of smart grid will be invested 4 trillion yuan from the preliminary stage to The Twelfth Five-Year Plan period which is the leading and advancing stage. The comprehensive construction stage which is from 2011 to 2015 will be invested 2 trillion yuan. The fundamental construction completed stages which is from 2016 to 2020 will be invested 1.7 trillion yuan. It will also bring tremendous opportunities for the whole industrial chain of smart grid and will be an engine of our economic growth.
 
The largest smart grid exhibition in China
China International Smart Grid Construction Technology and Equipment Exhibition(CIGEE) is held for the needs of the construction of smart grid.
